The Humble Granny Square

The most popular crochet stitch. Once learnt it can be made into just about anything. Small ones can be seen together to make vast heirloom blankets or simple cushion covers. Single small squares can be made in to lavender pillows, coasters or potholders. Or go big and make one giant granny square blanket. The possibilities are endless.

Below are some of the granny square items I have made. The blankets were for my daughter when she was born and she still uses them now. They’re warm bit light, which makes them perfect for a newborn.
